Chemin des Groies de chez Fouche Jonzac
This is a new-build project utilising the Pop-UP concept and achieving Passivhaus standard.
Pop-Up is a method of construction which uses the high insulation value of polystyrene blocks as the main component for external walls, floors and roof structure. This is erected on site using factory measured timber elements that create a highly insulated timber frame type construction which is both quick and easy to erect.
The building achieved a near perfect air tightness rating and together with the triple glazed high performance windows, solar panels and smart ventilation system will provide an energy efficient dwelling.
The construction method allowed internal partitions to be constructed with a lightweight metal partition system. Plaster finishes to all internal surfaces being traditional plasterboard and skim.
The external treatment is predominantly a white boarded finish with grey stained vertical timber boarding detailing to door and window openings.
The new dwelling provides extensive living accommodation on a single level, making it a comfortable contemporary family home which is fully accessible for the disabled.
The external terraces have been located to take full advantage of lunchtime and evening sun for those important ‘alfresco’ dining opportunities.
The project was completed in September 2017
